每个做父母的都希望自己有一个聪明、活泼、健康、可爱的孩子。人人也都喜欢聪明、活泼的孩子。面对人类进入高度信息化的时代，确实需要更多更多的聪明人。
一个聪明的人不仅需要具备敏捷的思维，聪颖的智慧，超乎寻常的想象力、记忆力和创造力等这些智力因素，更重要的是必须具备对事物兴趣的好奇心、进取心、良好的意志品质、强烈的自信心、竞争意识以及有一种坚韧不拔的毅力等。这些非智力品质才能够成为一个有才华的成功者。
一位美国的心理学家，对八百名男性儿童进行了三十多年的追踪研究，结果证明成就最大与最小者之间的最明显的差异，不在于智力上的差异，而是自信心、进取心、坚持性和不屈不挠的毅力等优秀的非智力品质上的差异。也就是说，他们之间的差异是心理素质方面的差异。
我们幼儿教育把这种良好的心理素质即非智力品质的养成教育称之为“心理卫生保健”在幼儿时期的教育中，它和幼儿胜利卫生保健放在同等重要的地位。幼儿生理卫生保健已被广大的教育工作者和家长的重视，而心理卫生保健却没有引起每个家长的重视。其实，幼儿的身心正发生了疾病，会影响孩子的身体健康，而心理发育出现了偏异，同样也会损害幼儿的成长的。
当前独生子女中，就发现了一些心理因素不健康的现象。如：自私、贪欲、任性、依赖、胆小、怯懦、缺乏自信心、精力不集中、交往能力差、生活自理能力差、挑食、娇气……这些都是由于幼儿心理发育偏离了正常轨道，而产生的心理卫生偏异现象，这种现象究其原因是父母亲素质、养育方式、家庭环境及教育观念有关。
为了使我们的孩子能够正常的、健康的、日益向上的得到发展，为他们今后的人生打下坚实的良好的基础，我们必须为孩子们创设一个优良的教育环境，这包括学校教育和家庭教育两个方面。
我们的孩子刚刚出发，家庭是他的第一个学校，父母是他们的第一任教师，人们对教师的赞颂是“人类灵魂的工程师”。其实，每位家长都在义务的承担着这一神圣的光荣的职责。家庭教育是孩子们的“生活教育”，是父母用自己的人格、品德、学识、情感以及家庭生活习惯给予孩子以熏陶、传授着做人的教育。因此，家长品质、情趣、性格、知识等整个形象，便成为了幼儿学习的楷模、天长日久的影响着你的下一代。
随着我国的国情，中华民族的传统美德，靠我们这一代人向后人相传，要把我们的下一代培养成为淳朴、善良、具有同情心的一代人。这是教育观的问题，我们建议家长要使自己日常生活的行为规范化，为幼儿创造一个健康向上的优良教育环境。
首先，我们要求家长们在孩子面前，做到语言文明、说话轻声、待人彬彬有礼，随时使用礼貌用语“谢谢”、“您好”、“再见”等，并要求幼儿学者用这些礼貌用语说话。
第二，家庭成员之间要互相互爱、互相关心、互相帮助、互相谅解、尊重老人、关心老人的冷暖、饮食，能宽容别人的过错，让自己的言行，使得家人愉快、和睦、祥和。为此，要求做父母的不赌博、不酗酒、讲话文明、不随意大骂孩子，同时不溺爱孩子，不哄骗孩子，不浓妆孩子，使他们活泼、天真、可爱、具有一颗童心。
第三，要求家长把孩子看成一个独立的完整的人，要尊重孩子、关心孩子、爱护孩子、支持孩子的合理要求。
第四，为幼儿创设一个良好的家庭环境，家庭中的用品整齐有序，随时收拾各种用品，培养幼儿用过的东西，随时归还原位的好习惯。
第五、家庭中保持父母等同的地位，形成争做家务的好习惯、好风气，并引导幼儿参与到能及的劳动中去培养他们的劳动意识和习惯。
第六、在家庭中逐步培养幼儿自理能力，养成自我服务的好习惯，家长要有耐心培养，不要包办代替。如：学习正确洗手、洗脸、刷牙、漱口、梳头，自己学穿鞋并认清左右。
第七、要求家长仪表整洁、举止大方、在幼儿园不允许抽烟和随地仍废物。在园见到教师熟人要有礼貌的问候，接送孩子时培养幼儿的礼貌用语。
第八、孩子之间发生矛盾纠纷时，家长要教育自己的孩子，不能斥责别人的孩子。如果有事找老师协商，不能在幼儿园随便打自己的孩子，要做个有涵养的人。
最后，希望我们的家长在日常生活中对孩子、对事业有责任感，并遵守公共道德的优秀情感，时刻规范我们的语言；规范我们的行为；规范我们的家庭生活；规范我们的教育观念，从而激励自己的孩子活泼、聪明、健康的向上发展。
