浅谈如何提高小学英语口语

 

    小学英语的教学目的,是激发学生学习英语的兴趣,培养学生学习英语的积极态度,使学生建立学习英语的自信心;培养学生具有一定的语感和良好的语音、语调、书写基础,以及良好的学习习惯,使学生初步具有用英语进行简单日常交流的能力。由此可见,培养学生运用语言的能力和用英语获取信息的能力,如何提高学生的听说能力,尤其是口语能力,是小学英语教学中的一个主要问题。作为一名小学英语教师,我现在就浅谈一下如何有效地提高学生的口语表达能力。    

一、培养信心,让学生敢说英语。

  (一)小学生初学英语,心理上难免紧张,害怕犯错,自信心不足,说的能力自然会受到影响。尤其是一部分自尊心强的学生,还有害羞的学生很怕别人笑话他从而形成了一种宁可不说,也不愿说的心理。因此,首先要树立小学生说英语的自信心,其主要来自于教师对他们的评价。因此,教师要鼓励学生大胆说,不怕错,并且要保护学生的表达欲望,让学生“敢”说英语。在句型“I like ……”的教学过程中,者让学生用“I like ……”上讲台简单说一说自己的喜好,这个话题很贴近学生的生活,而且是学生非常熟悉的因此学生都饶有兴致地说开了。虽然都是一些很简单的单句,没什么特别的形容词修饰,但学生们还是大胆地讲了。作为教师在旁边加上一些启发性问句与连词,并给予鼓励以及赞扬,学生慢慢消除了紧张感、恐惧感,增强了自信心。所以对于低段小学生,首先要掌握他们的喜好,在课堂评价中穿插进去,树立学生的自信心。

  (二)善于创造机会,让学生始终保持自信心。培养学生自信心的条件是让他们不断得到成功的体验,而过多的失败体验,则使他们对自己的能力产生怀疑。因此,教师要根据学生发展的特点和个性差异,提出适合其水平的任务和要求,确立一个适当的目标,使其经过努力能够完成。注意启发学生学习的主动性和积极性,并善于创造机会让学生体检成功,肯定自己的能力从而拥有自信。我主要从以下几点来进行:

   1、韵律配动作。如在教颜色时,我采用的是韵律导入:“red,red, I see red。Yellow,yellow,I see yellow……学生听到朗朗上口的英语一定会说起来,带读几遍后。我说:“red,red”,学生说:“I see red”。最后我只做相应的动作让学生说英语,学生有了足够的说英语的次数,他们会很流利的说出英语。课后学生的巩固率会很高。

2、歌曲加表演。例如学习数字,可以用:“ten little Indians、number song”等歌曲改编,这些歌包含1-10的英文数字,学生在演唱的时候就已经会说这些数字了,并且让学生边唱边学动作。表演可以增加学生知识的理解和记忆。在教学中狠抓朗读与表演,要求学生在熟读课文的基础上加以灵活运用,自由会话。

    3、英语配简笔画。有人说:“孩子是天生的画家。”大部分的学生都很热衷于画画,乐于展示他们的作品。在教授身体各部位的名称eye 、 nose 、 leg等时,可以请获得奖励的学生在黑板上画出身体部位,其他学生用英语猜他画的是什么。学生的兴趣一下子就提高,都争先恐后的抢着上台画。让学生边画边说英语。只要从他们的兴趣着手,课堂上就能迅速集中学生的注意力。

    4、游戏和小组竞争。教师应根据小学生的这些特点组织游戏活动,让他们在喜闻乐见的形式中充分发展自己的口语表达能力和交际能力。在课堂教学中开展游戏活动,绝大多数学生会忘掉自我,全身心投入到游戏中去,他们会在轻松愉悦的环境里摆脱英语的生涩感,从而自然大方地讲英语,逐渐提高语言组织的能力。例如,在教句型“what‵s this?—It‵s a …… ”时,教师准备好一个卡片,让各组派一名代表选取一张卡片,并大声说出英文,最后与卡片一致的学生的那个组予以奖励。又或者用Super Man 这个游戏,教师设定两个动作,让学生站起来拍手说句子,当老师边说super man 边做动作,如果学生和老师的动作一样就请坐,其他人继续。在整个活动过程中,双方的通用语言只能是英语,对于犯规的要予以一定的处罚。这样,学生们积极投入,思维敏捷,极大程度地训练了学生的口语,“学中玩,玩中学”,让学生加深对句子的理解。

二、激发兴趣,让学生爱说英语。 

    兴趣是最好的老师,是影响学生学习的要素之一 ,它在学生学习的过程中起着关键的作用。小学生学英语往往从兴趣出发,尤其是低段小学生,若是兴趣不培养起来那学生学起来就很吃力甚至厌恶,这会给他们带来学习的心理负担,引起厌学情绪。因此,教师应该结合教材内容,精心设计与小学生生活实际紧密结合、形式多样、生动活泼的课堂教学活动,让学生在和谐的氛围中学习和运用语言,激发学生说英语的兴趣,调动他们说英语的积极性。

三、创设情景,让学生多说英语

  培养学生运用语言的能力,是小学英语教学中的一个重要问题。学生要养成良好的语言运用能力,就必须主张在语境中接触,体验和理解掌握,并在此基础上学习和运用语言,要求教师尽可能多为学生创造在真实语境中运用语言的机会。然而在实际教学过程中存在着非真实语言交际现象,学生在学习了一些常用表达后依然不能在实际情景中运用。有时课堂重视活动,重视语言操练,但忽视了语言内容从而语言脱离实际,学生不能表达自己的真实想法,而是套用所学句子来操练句子,并没有达到语言交际的目的。应该坚持以学生为主,分析学生英语学习情况,了解学生生活经验和发展需求,调动学生学习积极性。

四、分层教学,让学生都说英语

  在小学低段学生英语学习过程中也会存在水平差异,为避免学习困难的学生产生怕学,不开口的问题,我认为要分层教学,让学有余力的学生“吃得饱 ”,而稍有吃力的学生“吃得上”。语音教学在英语口语学习过程中的渗透,良好的英语口语必须具备良好的语音素质,尤其是英语作为我们的第二语言,受母语的英语,我们在一些单词的发音上不能像以英语作为第一语言的国家的人那样标准,但我们可以通过语音的练习达到说一口标准,地道的英语。语音的实践,不仅使学习基础好的学生得到口语锻炼与提高,而且使其他学生感到好奇,并由此产生一种试一试的心情,进而大胆参与到教学中。

五、创设的校园内英语环境

   (一)教学中开展“每日2分种的会话练习”活动,说英语的内容是根据本节所上的教材内容,对学生提出具体要求,让学生领会说的目的,每个学生限时2分钟。让学生模仿录音朗读。

   (二)合理利用学校墙报、广播等宣传阵地。利用每周三眼保健操后的红英广播,让学生多听,不知不觉中吸收。提高学习英语的兴趣,增强信心。

(三)通过英语光碟收看“小电影”和听英文歌曲网络上有许多少儿英语动画片,都是一些儿童喜欢看的动画片、小电影,或者听一些英文歌曲,学生在自我休闲的同时,也能学到不少的知识。培养学生的口语能力是一项艰巨而重要的任务。我们应认识到语言学习中听说的重要性,平时注意多积累听说材料,在教学实践中加以补充完整,除此以外,还需要我们教师在教学过程中不断探索总结,持之以恒地从各个方面进行训练。

教师在英语口语教学中,要充分激发学生的说话意图,采取更多方式方法,加强课堂上师生的互动,学生自身对知识的输入与输出,使学生逐步地自觉参与其中,发挥学英语最终目的—口语交际。
